Management Addresses "Hidden" Restroom Surveillance With Informational Signage

CROSSVILLE, TN — Management at the Celina 52 Truck Stop has taken a proactive approach to patron privacy following the discovery of a surveillance device in the ladies' restroom. Rather than removing the large, black dome camera situated prominently above a toilet, facility officials instead opted to install a high-visibility warning sign on the tile wall directly beneath it.
The crisp, yellow-and-white placard—which points a bold black arrow toward the ceiling—clearly advises stall users: "NOTICE: HIDDEN CAMERA IN RESTROOM." According to maintenance staff, the device remains physically inaccessible without a specialized stepladder, prompting the signage-based compromise.
"We want the ladies to feel a deep sense of comfort knowing we aren't watching the footage, mostly because we have absolutely no idea who placed it there or where the feed is broadcasting," said CEO Dennis Herniple. "Whoever mounted that dome up there did a fantastic job with the drop ceiling wiring. Since it's out of arm's reach, a permanent warning sign was the safest and most cost-effective remedy."
Patrons utilizing the facilities are advised to proceed with the standard level of vigilance expected at America's Deadliest Truck Stop.
