Elderly Patron Subjected to Public Shaming Over Ceiling Tile Fundraiser Deception

CROSSVILLE, TN — A local octogenarian is currently stationed outside the main entrance of the Celina 52 Truck Stop, bearing a large cardboard sign that boldly reads "I LIED TO THE CASHIER." The public shaming follows a brief internal investigation into the facility’s ongoing ceiling tile fundraiser.

Bernice, a regular patron, was apprehended Tuesday morning after purchasing lottery scratch-offs. This transaction directly contradicted her earlier statement to staff that she lacked the funds to contribute to the truck stop's infrastructure improvements. "We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for financial perjury," stated 2nd shift LEAD Cashier Colby Kappleman, who orchestrated the detainment. "She claimed extreme poverty, then went straight for the scratchers. That breaks the sacred bond between cashier and customer."

Bernice is currently seated in a white folding chair near the automatic doors, appearing visibly bewildered by her sentence. Onlookers, including one patron in a maroon Volcom shirt, were seen quietly observing the disciplinary action while exiting the premises.

Management states Bernice will remain on public display until her moral compass is successfully recalibrated. In the meantime, patrons are welcome to take free souvenir photographs with the disgraced senior citizen during regular business hours.
