Diplomatic Doves Defecate on Rival Beaver Sign, Stalling Peace Talks

CROSSVILLE, TN — A highly anticipated New Year's peace summit between Celina 52 Truck Stop and rival gas station Bussy's has collapsed following a catastrophic failure of avian diplomacy. Early Tuesday morning, Celina 52 management released 52 white doves as a ceremonial olive branch to the competing business across the street.
Rather than soaring into the heavens as a symbol of corporate harmony, the flock immediately descended upon the rival's towering, yellow beaver mascot sign. Dozens of the birds perched atop the illuminated marquee and promptly unleashed a torrential amount of droppings. Thick white streaks of excrement can now be seen heavily coating both the grinning beaver's face and the prominent "CROSSVILLE" lettering below.
After extensively defiling the cross-town monument, the birds abandoned their diplomatic mission and flew back across the street, where they are currently eating trash from the Celina 52 parking lot.
"We are officially postponing all further negotiations," a Celina 52 spokesperson stated. Second-shift lead cashier Colby Kappleman reportedly attempted to corral the scavenging doves to continue the peace process, but the birds remain firmly entrenched in a puddle of discarded antifreeze.
