Celina 52 Initiates Extreme Retention Protocol, Chains Head Cashier to Register

CROSSVILLE, TN — Management at the Celina 52 Truck Stop has implemented an aggressive new employee retention strategy, securing Head Cashier Belinda to her workstation with heavy-duty steel chains following rumors of her potential resignation.

The preventative measure was enacted Tuesday afternoon after a coworker reportedly overheard the highly valued employee expressing a desire to seek alternative employment. Currently, Belinda remains tethered to a structural support pole adjacent to the primary point-of-sale system. A thick steel chain connects a heavy metal cuff on her right wrist directly to the black pillar. Despite her newly restricted mobility, the cashier, dressed in a standard blue pullover, was observed calmly exhaling a thick plume of vapor while ringing up customers amidst a tangle of register cables.

According to facility representatives, the immobilization is a temporary hold until CEO Dennis Herniple can fly in to personally handle contract renegotiations. "Belinda is an operational necessity, and we cannot risk her walking out the door before we have a chance to make things right," management stated in an internal memo. Customers have been officially advised by corporate to completely disregard any of Belinda's complaints or verbal grievances while she scans their purchases.
