CASHIER-INVOLVED SHOOTING RESULTS IN TWO INJURIES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CELINA, TN - On June 27, 2024, at approximately 10:06 AM, an incident occurred at Celina 52 Truck Stop involving a customer and two employees, resulting in two injuries.

The situation began when a cashier identified a vehicle parked in a designated handicap spot without proper authorization. In accordance with company policy, the cashier requested assistance from another employee to relocate the vehicle.

During this process, the vehicle's owner returned and a verbal altercation ensued. The situation escalated, resulting in a physical confrontation between the customer and an employee. In response to the perceived threat, our cashier, following internal security protocols, intervened to protect his coworker.

Two individuals, including one employee, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were promptly transported to a local medical facility for treatment. Both have since been released.

"The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority," said Dennis Herniple, CEO of Celina 52 Truck Stop. "We are conducting a thorough internal review of the incident and cooperating fully with local authorities in their investigation."

Celina 52 Truck Stop remains committed to maintaining a safe environment for all patrons and staff. We will use this incident to review and enhance our safety procedures as needed.
